The Women in Law “Outreach” kaupapa aims to tackle the structural barriers facing women considering a career in law, acknowledging that these structural barriers are most pronounced for women from minority groups and/or lower socio-economic backgrounds.
In the official launch event of our Outreach Initiative, we will be hearing from inspiring wāhine who embody the values of our kaupapa. We're delighted to have Laura Carter, President of Auckland Women Lawyer's Association and Barrister at Sangro Chambers as our MC. Our panellists include:
Chief Justice Helen Winkelmann
Judge Soana Moala
Judge Ophir Cassidy
Georgia Moore
Raksha Tiwari
We invite high school students and current law students to attend.
There will be opportunities to network after the panel with current law students, practitioners and representatives from the Law Faculty. Canapes and light refreshments will be served.
We are very grateful to Meredith Connell's Te Kuhunga programme for their generous support for this event.
Important: to attend the event you must register via our Eventbrite link. Spots are strictly limited, so if you can't make it please return your ticket.
